Kia Ora my name is Shona,

I have lived in the local community for most of my life and started working at Wellsford preschool in 2002.

I have worked with all ages in Early Childhood in a range of centers, working with children has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember.

I am passionate about caring for tamariki in a nurturing environment that allows them to freely explore, and build strong relationships between myself and tamariki. I believe that the best way for tamariki to learn is through play and exploration, with hands on learning. I really enjoy messy play and being part of nga tamariki through their day to day activities. I have a great thirst for continuous learning.

In my free time I love rummaging around garage sales and op shops, sewing and mucking around in the garden. I also enjoy getting my nose into a good book and reading.
