Kia Ora I’m Vanessa,
I live in Wellsford with my 3 boys – Alex (9), Kail (7), Max (3) and our cat Nuby.
I qualified in April 2007 with my Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) and since then have taken on a number of different roles such as supporting setting up a new Under 2’s area, team leader and also a Visiting Educator for home-based care, before having a year and a half off work to stay home with Max and be there for our boys before and after school.
Alex and Kail attend Wellsford Primary School and Max and I spend 3 days a week exploring at Wellsford Preschool.
I have a strong belief that children can succeed with support of an encouraging educator. Therefore I endeavour to motivate children without doing things for them but be alongside them encouraging them.
I believe messy play and art opportunities is a valuable teaching tool and love to provide these regularly. It’s a perfect way to explore all those valuable senses.
Our environment is another great teaching tool. Whether it be books in the shade, shadow drawing or using natural resources to provide an invitation to explore learning opportunities.
I love being part of Wellsford Preschools’ awesome teaching team and look forward to working alongside whānau to help scaffold your tamariki to reach their full potential.
